Review:
... not the movie, but the number of self-proclaimed Holmes aficionados who apparently have no knowledge of Holmes. For the record, Holmes was a drug addict irresponsible miserable actually sleep on the floor, insult his best friend, his dog experience, and never wore a deerstalker hat (at least not until the invention of TV ;). He was a fighter who practices martial arts and was probably the slums around the most filthy rags that suit.It was not until after Dr. Watson shook his hand really refined itself and became a respectable member of society. And yes, we can say that this film takes place in the beginning of their relationship because Watson has not yet been married to his wife (the retconning not bother me too, true, but just can not avoid some re-imagined here and there). Speaking of the inevitable, (is that a word?) Irene Adler, Holmes uncapturable, only to be done as a potential boyfriend. Flirting, the romance and the Make-Out Sessions almost irresistible to the director (and all participants damn honest with themselves). That said, I felt Robert Downey, Jr. played Sherlock Holmes to perfection. Its characteristic caustic attitude towards Lestrade and even Watson was sometimes exactly how Id imagine. Provide various sums of their observations and deductions that led Holmes to life in an almost unprecedented. His fight scenes (in front of the first times superhuman calculations) shows both the physical and mental parts of Holmes in ways that Watson notes cant quite convey, but which increasingly hint.As for themselves Watson, had Jude Law a fantastic show. I was a bit skeptical about how he fought, as Watson damage during the war, but his character and behavior completely out of the nose. His loyalty to Holmes despite his frustrations with him could not have been more expertly captured, I feel. No, could even forgiving or patient endure Holmes forever without the occasional confrontation. The original Holmes, after all, was not insulting his best friend or ridicule their reasoning abilities at times. But Watson could not leave his friend in his time of need. This version (or vision, if you will) by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's invention can be more adventurous, ME s most exciting and nervous than any other incarnation, but that does not make it less true to the original. Apart from a bit of revisionist history in the case of the female characters, nothing is too far from normal, and no amount of references to Madonna amendment.
