Review:
I usually do not like movies about sports. I love sports, not just movies about sports. That being said, this movie was not so much about baseball as it was about a father and daughter relationship. Also touched on how technology has taken over the human factor measurements players. This film is a real contrast Moneyball, where technology actually helps in building a team. Gus lobes (Clint Eastwood) is an aging scout for the Atlanta Braves, who are struggling with his sight, and the front seat doubts about whether it is still in job spotting up and coming talent. Because of this scourge, Gus is a grumpy old man that really adds a lot of film comedy. The nature of his reminded me of the character that Eastwood starred in Grand Torino. His daughter, Mickey (Amy Adams) discovers that her father has a problem, I hate to be on a roll of caregivers and followed Father Dur Scouts adventure. By the way, she knows more about baseball than probably anyone else in this film. Johnny Flanagan (Justin Timberlake) is an aspiring sports announcer, who was scouted by Gus ago. The relationship formed between Mickey (named Mickey Mantle), and Johnny was fun to watch, and provides insight into Mickeys unwillingness to develop a real relationship with anybody. Pete Klein (John Goodman) plays the role of a mediator, which brings together Mickey and GUS. I really unwavering commitment and confidence in Gus. It was also good to see if Scott Eastwood (Billy Clark) act, in addition to his father. They worked together in several films, and it was good seeing to spend some family time together. I think the whole cast of this movie is definitely better and I'm sure will draw young audiences into the theater. I do not think this movie was absolutely brilliant, but it was thoroughly enjoyable. There were aspects of the film were quite predictable, but I'm looking forward to see play out. Producer Robert Lorenz may not be likely in the garden (which he did with Million Dollar Baby), but I think it's finally triple play. We recommend that you do not sit on the bench and go out and see this movie. I give this film a green light.
